Book Reviews

Hey y'all, happy Turkey Break! So, it's that time again! Yeah, the 'time when I remember that I review books' time! Here we go:
Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld: If you liked the Uglies, or Midnighters series, or are a fan of either historical fiction or sci-fi, you need to keep reading. This novel is set in World War One, but instead of the world we know, where the Allies fight the Germans, here it is Darwinist versus Clanker. The Clankers are all technology, all the time, but in a steam-powered, smoky way. The Darwinists can take the 'life threads' of different animals and weave them together to make 'beasties'. Deryn, a young girl who loves to fly, has disguised herself as a boy to join the air forces onboard the Leviathan, an 'ecosystem' in the air. Alek is the crown prince of Austria-Hungary in hiding. They are thrown together in an interesting turn of events. You absolutely have to read this book.

My second piece is about the Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 drama. There is no, I repeat no, direct nudity in this film. You see Ginny's back when she gets help zipping up her dress, and you see the Horcrux version of Harry and Hermione from the shoulders up. Nudity is implied, but everything is a swirling mist from which their faces protrude. I wouldn't take kids to it, but then again, I wouldn't take them to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, either. But this movie is easily the best of the Potter series so far.

Veteran's Day

Yeah yeah yeah, I've been really tired lately so I haven't updated lately. Yell at me, whatever. Let's focus on the really important stuff. Miranda and I got our make-up done by a Mary Kay woman. We all looked gorgeous, FYI! Mom bought me the cutest lip gloss, and beautiful eyeshadow. I wore it the other day, and I got so many compliments! Also, Sister Young has given me some of the coolest clothes! It all fit me so well, and it was all so cute. Muchos gracias!

Also, as today is Veteran's Day, I'd like to send a quick shoutout to all those who have served our country. You have no idea how gratful we all are for your service.

Other than that, I am searching for the book Tempted by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. It's the most recent book in the incredible House of Night novels. If anyone has it, I will love whoever loans it to me! :D

Lessee.... what else do I have to say.... Oh yes, I've restarted work on my novel, which is currently titled Playing With Fire. I finally got it all transcribed onto my laptop so I can work much more efficiently now. It should be finished by next summer, but I promise nothing. Those of you interested in reading an excerpt should send me a message on Facebook or on my e-mail.

Past that, nothing else is happening.

Love and lemon drops,
